North Carolina has a strong finance sector, particularly in its large cities. Bank of America and BB&T’s global headquarters are in North Carolina, and Charlotte’s financial center is the second most valuable after New York City’s.

The Research Triangle Park between Raleigh, Chapel Hill, and Durham is the largest and oldest continuously operating such park in the world.
