The second largest country in the world, Canada is one of the world’s most developed nations, with the world’s eleventh-largest economy. Its official languages are English and French, and its largest cities and economic centers include Vancouver, Toronto, Montreal, Ottawa, and Edmonton.

Like many developed countries, Canada’s economy is a services-dominant one, with services making up 76% of jobs. The largest industries within the service sector are retail, business (including finance and real estate), education, and health care.

Canada is a net exporter of energy. It is also home to a large science and technology industry. Because of Canada’s role in the global economy, companies looking for an international presence often seek out Canada as a place to expand to.
