The newspaper business, like many these days, is going online, so you can also find technical jobs at many newspapers if that’s what you’re interested in. Depending on the size of the newspaper and its frequency of printing, prepare for some odd hours and tight deadlines; the headquarters of a daily newspaper is open almost all the time, but other newspapers (particularly local ones) print weekly. You’ll need a bachelor’s degree for almost all of these positions listed, and working with your college’s newspaper is a great way to dip a toe in.
