Looking for an entry level job or internship in human resources? This is an overview of how to approach the search and a list of companies that might have relevant entry level and internship opportunities.

Human resources management deals with organizing the people who work at a company. While tasks such as training and assessing employees are part of the human resources umbrella, also included are strategies to make the workplace inclusive and welcoming, as well as talent management.

Your daily duties will vary depending on your focus and the size of the company but will most often include some of these tasks:

Writing job descriptions that will attract new employees
Screening candidates
Training and onboarding new employees
Evaluating employees
Conducting exit interviews when employees leave
Making sure every aspect of hiring, firing, and payment is done legally
Staying up to date on labor laws

Companies large and small must organize their workforce, and the way human resources is run varies depending on the size of of the company. If you work at a startup, you may be the only person responsible for human resources, or you may report straight to the CEO. Large companies often have large human resources departments, and you may concentrate on a small part of the field.
