I’ve been working for myself for the past six years, so the only perk that I get is flexibility. But when I interned at Orvis, I got a 50% employee discount. It was a big part of the reason that I went back for another summer (and spent most of the money I made from the internship). While many companies have unique perks that only they can offer, there are all kinds of perks that are available to pretty much any company that wants to make them available to their employees. AnyPerk is a San Francisco, CA based company that puts all of these perks into a single package that employers can get access to for $5 per employee per month. AnyPerk’s goal is “to help businesses attract and retain top talent while providing a rewarding work environment,” and they’ve found that perks are a great way to do that.
Take a look at AnyPerk’s perks. You can get deals on things ranging cell phone service discounts to movie tickets to pet insurance. Most companies kludge their perk programs together. AnyPerk puts it all in one neat package that is low cost, and easy to deliver (over the Internet). Some might wonder why vendors like AT&T, AMC, Hertz, and HP would want to give deals to employees of nearly any company. It’s great marketing. Not only will people tend to use these services in their everyday lives, but the positive brand associate may carry over into business decisions. That kind of influence can be extremely valuable. AnyPerk’s model is extremely simple, and that’s why it seems to be so popular with both vendors and employers. If you’d like to help them continue to grow their popularity, take a look at AnyPerks’s Careers page. Right now they’re looking for an Account Operations Manager and a Business Development Representative. Both positions look like a great fit for a new or recent grad.
