Looking for an entry level job or internship in finance? This is an overview of how to approach the search and a list of companies that might have relevant entry level and internship opportunities.

So you want to work with money? Finance deals with the allocation of assets (including money) over time. In the job world, there are three major categories of finance: public finance, corporate finance, and personal finance.

As a recent grad, you can work in many places in the finance world. Some of those places include banks, insurance companies, governments (federal, state, or local), an accounting or tax company, or in any product-selling company with a finance or budget department. A few titles for recent grads to look for include:

Financial Analyst
Actuary
Revenue Specialist
Insurance Agent
Financial Advisor
Investment Banker
Accountant
Auditor

Almost all positions in finance require a bachelor’s degree in a related field, such as business or accounting. Some of them, such as actuary and accounting, require further education or certifications.
