Looking for an entry level job or internship in fitness? This is an overview of how to approach the search and a list of companies that might have relevant entry level and internship opportunities.

Is staying in shape a big priority for you? A career in fitness and wellness could be for you.

Fitness covers a lot of ground, and you can get started with a part-time job as a student. A few possibilities include:

Fitness instructor: Teach fitness courses to groups, usually at gyms and fitness centers
Personal trainer: Create and execute an individualized fitness plan for individuals
Nutritionist: Advise on matters of food, nutrition, and health

You can also work with a non-profit that uses personal fitness as part of its mission or with a business that markets fitness products or services. You need a bachelor’s degree for most of these positions (with the exception of the fitness instructor and possibly personal trainer) and certification in some cases.
