Japan is an island nation in Asia. Its economy is the third largest in the world, with major companies based in or with large branches in Japan.

Japan is one of the world’s largest producers of automobiles, with Honda, Toyota, Nissan, Subaru, Mazda, and Mitsubishi calling Japan home, to name a few. These automobiles are also among the most technologically advanced, taking on Japan’s traits as a leader in technology and electronics–the largest producer in the world, in fact. A few of the electronics companies based in Japan include Canon, Toshiba, Casio, Nintendo, Sony, and Nikon. Many of these companies are based in Tokyo, Japan’s largest city and the world’s largest metropolitan area.
