It’s been two weeks since we started our Find a Job, Win a Wii contest, and today we are announcing a winner. First, we want to thank everyone who entered for subscribing to our e-mail list, becoming Facebook Fans, and even writing posts for us. If you feel like you missed out on this contest, subscribe so you won’t miss out on future contests. We really appreciate when our readers participate and give us feedback. Even though the contest is over, please continue to comment on posts, share interesting jobs on Facebook with your friends, and send us feedback.
In case you were wondering how we selected a winner, this is how we did it. We put every entry into an Excel spreadhseet. We then assigned each entry a number (so if you had 7 entries, you got 7 numbers). After the contest entry date ended, we tabulated the number of total entries and went over to random.org and used their Random Integer Generator to select a number. We found the entry that matched the randomly selected number, and notified the winner.
And the winner is…
Alyssa Godesky of Severna Park, Maryland. She is currently a senior at the University of Virginia in Charlottesville and will graduate in May with a B.A. in Mathematics. In hopes of achieving her long-term career aspiration of becoming an analyst or consultant for a non-profit organization, she is currently looking at a wide variety of entry-level jobs including consulting jobs and teaching fellowship programs. Beyond being a fan and subscriber of One Day, One Job (in other words, a really smart job searcher), Alyssa keeps herself busy training for marathons and ultra-marathons. She even recently picked up a sponsorship and will begin running for the Bad to the Bone! Endurance Sports pro-team in January.
Congratulations Alyssa! We hope the Wii makes for an excellent holiday season and maybe even helps with your marathon training – Wii tennis can get pretty intense.
