Looking for Adventurous Job Seekers

Posted by Willy Franzen on Friday, July 18, 2008

A couple weeks ago we came up with an off the wall job search idea that we want to test. Since we’re not job searching ourselves, we’re looking for 10 volunteers who would like to be part of an experiment. This idea is pretty “out there,” but we think that it has the potential to be extremely effective. Participation will require a small time commitment (maybe an hour or two), but should be well worth it. We’ll be helping and coaching you along the way to ensure that you make the most out of our idea.

To participate you must:

If you would like to participate, please leave a comment below saying so. Make sure that you use your real e-mail address (it won’t be published publicly). Not everyone will be a good fit for the experiment, so don’t stop leaving comments after the first 10 people.

We’re doing this because we want to constantly push the limits of using Internet to find and get entry-level jobs. Not only are we hoping to help participants land their dream jobs, but we’re also hoping that this idea/experiment will yield valuable information for other job seekers. We even think that this idea might be innovative enough to generate some major press attention for us and the participants. Attention is a good thing when you’re job searching, so sign up now by leaving a comment below!

My curiosity is aroused. You are gearing this to entry level jobs and I might not seem like a good fit but I am interested in using the knowledge and experience I have acquired through education, work and hobbies in an entirely new way. I am 52 years old and NEED to do something new, so that could make me “entry level”. I am interested, if you are, please contact me.

I’d definitely be interested in helping out; I’m currently doing an internship right now, but there is no guarantee that it will lead to something in the future (though I am doing everything I can right now)…would be very interested in learning more.

I’ll be in touch with all of you soon with more details about the experiment.

    kthanksbye.

  46. Scott Butterworth on August 6th, 2008 at 3:28 am

I am very very very interested in your idea. I am willing to do anything and everything in my job search. I turned 24 three days ago and just moved to Los Angeles a month ago to pursue a career in the music industry (specifically music supervision in TV/Film, but I’m very open to any career that utilizes my passion and knowledge of music).

I’ve had many internships and part time jobs in the career field I’m pursuing, but I still having trouble landing that first full time entry-level job. I am getting very frustrated with the same old job hunting (emailing resumes, cold calling and getting rejected by receptionists) and I am very interested in going outside the box and trying new ways to pursue my career options. Since I just made the move to Los Angeles I feel like I would be perfect for this project and I will put 110% of my effort into this. Thank you so much for thing opportunity. It’s exactly the kick start that I need!!

  47. Paige Halls on August 6th, 2008 at 11:58 am

I am VERY interested in this opportunity if still available!! I check and base my research off this site while in my job hunting daze. I am free as a bird and never say no to adventures.
    PICK ME!
    Thanks!

  48. Ben on August 8th, 2008 at 2:16 pm

Get me out of my humdrum existence-I need some spice!

  49. Yvette on August 12th, 2008 at 4:09 pm

My job stinks so bad and my boss is the devil!! My life is in cardiac arrest and I need a jump start - please keep me posted on any news - I’ve been “safe” for too long!
