Here at One Day, One Job, we’re always trying to figure out how to make it easier for college students to find great entry-level jobs. Networking is one of the best ways to land a job, and online social networking sites make networking a lot easier. We’ve found a few really exciting ways to integrate social networking site into your job search – some of which we’ve already mentioned in articles and posts. Other techniques we’re still researching and experimenting with, and we’ll be bringing those to you in article form soon. We’ve also come up with a new idea that you won’t even need to read about to use.
Yesterday, we read about how CollegeRecruiter.com has added LinkedIn integration to their job postings, and we got a little bit envious. LinkedIn isn’t letting just anyone access their API (Application Programming Interfaces), so we can’t offer you the same functionality quite yet. What we can offer is almost as good. With less than 5 minutes of coding, we’ve added links to every company profile on our site that will allow you to see whom you know at each company via Facebook and LinkedIn. Every post now has a link that looks like this:
Do I Know Anyone at (Company Name)? – Check LinkedIn | Check Facebook
Like we said, this is a brand new feature, and we’ve barely tested it. To get results that are relevant, you’ll have to be logged in to your LinkedIn and Facebook accounts. Results will vary depending on who your friends or connections are. We’re really excited to offer this feature, and we hope that it helps in your job search.
