We’re a week away from one of the worst travel periods of the year. If you’re flying between next Wednesday and the following Sunday, good luck. Look forward to long lines, getting groped by the TSA, crying babies, no legroom, and probably a delay or a lost bag. Wouldn’t it be nice to travel without those headaches? That’s why ridiculously rich people buy their own jets. But what if you’re only really rich and can’t afford your own jet? You buy time on one. That’s what Sentient Jet does for its clients. They’re a Cleveland, OH based company that “arranges more air charter flights than any other jet charter procurement business in the country.”
Sentient Jet made a name for itself by offering the 25-Hour Private Jet Card. It’s a way to pre-buy time on a private jet at a discounted rate, lock in fuel rates, and get guaranteed availability on as little as 10 hours notice. It’s still crazy expensive–the entry level package for 25 hours on the smallest plane is $123,100–but it’s way more affordable than owning even a fraction of a jet. You can take a look at this cost comparison to get a better idea of the economics of the business. Sentient Jet doesn’t even own the planes that they book charters on, but they do take care of every little detail. You pretty much just have to pay, book a flight, and get on the plane. It’s a pretty cool business, which is why you should visit Sentient Jet’s Jobs page. Right now they’re looking for a Client Management Consultant, a Marketing Coordinator, and an Online Marketing Specialist. All three positions look like they could be a good fit for a new or recent grad, so check them out.
