Public relations is a funny game. A former intern recently published an interview with me on a pretty major blog. I got the coverage because of who I knew. But then an even bigger blog called Lifehacker blogged about the article. I got the coverage because of where I had been previously covered. A few days later One Day One Job was mentioned in another Lifehacker article on Top 10 Ways to Get a Better Job (this was just a short mention, but it sent by far the most traffic). I got this coverage because the author was familiar with me and my site. It takes a ton of hard work to run into this kind of luck, which is why most major companies hire PR firms that have solid reputations and great relationships with journalists. But it takes more than that–it takes a focus on action and results, which is exactly what Emanate offers.
