Did you know that over the past decade the cost for advertisers in all types of media has grown at a rate far exceeding inflation? That may not seem like a big deal to you, but as media agencies have consolidated in hopes of creating economies of scale, prices have still continued to go up for their clients. That’s not what they said would happen! Because the cost of media is mostly market driven, a total communications management company like TargetCast tcm can’t promise lower prices when it comes to ad spending, but they can offer better service.

Targetcast tcm has made a thriving business out of being the media agency of choice for medium sized companies - the ones who are often poorly served by mega-agencies. While there is little that they can do about rising media prices, they can offer a level of attention and focus that is needed to make the most out of medium-sized company’s limited budget. Between 2003 and 2006, TargetCast tcm’s annual revenue has grown almost 800%. That was good for making them the New York City based firm the 344th fastest growing privately held company in the United States according to Inc. Magazine. Looks like they’ve found a niche! All the success has brought the attention of the big spenders that typically crowd out the types of companies that TargetCast tcm has built its business serving. They want in, but CEO Steve Farella maintains that TargetCast tcm will continue to serve its core market of medium sized businesses. We aren’t experts, but it looks like TargetCast tcm is already working with some pretty major brands. Regardless of the size of their clients, we really like the tools that TargetCast tcm uses to interact with their clients.

If you have a background in communications or marketing, TargetCast tcm looks like a neat place to start your career. They’re growing really quickly, and they’ve probably already exceeded the 50 employees that we saw listed in their Inc. 5000 profile. TargetCast tcm’s Careers page is really basic and doesn’t even list job openings. All they offer is an e-mail address to send a resume to (careers@targetcast.com). So why do we think that TargetCast offers entry-level jobs? First, a little research turned up a Media Planner Job (you can find it by searching for TargetCast tcm in the Indeed box on the sidebar). This isn’t totally entry-level, but it only requires 1 year of experience which is about as close as you get. Second, we saw that TargetCast tcm attended the 2006 Central New York Communications Consortium for college recruiting purposes. You’re probably not going to find too much more information about jobs at TargetCast tcm online, so you might just want to apply and see what happens.

    What a clever article.

My experience with TargetCast as a media seller have been mediocre. It seems like a media graveyard.
