I wrote a lot of research papers in college, which means that I spent a lot of time poring over academic journals, research papers, and even primary sources. While there is something kind of fun about digging to find facts to support your thesis, I can’t say that I miss it. But I’m sure that there are plenty of you would absolutely love it if you could spend all day searching for sources on ProQuest. In case you’re not familiar with them, they’re an Ann Arbor, MI based company that “is committed to empowering researchers and librarians around the world.” They do this through a variety of products and services that will help you find the information that you need. When Google can’t find what you’re looking for, there’s a decent chance that ProQuest can.
By constantly working to forge new partnerships, ProQuest has “built a growing content collection that now encompasses 90,000 authoritative sources, 6 billion digital pages and spans six centuries.” While having all that content is great, the real key is linking it to technology that “allows serious research of virtually any research topic from multiple perspectives and across multiple formats.” If you’re the kind of person who is going to end up working for ProQuest, chances are that you’re already at least somewhat familiar with their offerings. There are some great opportunities available including Accountant I, Content Developer, Data and Payroll Administrator, DevOps Engineer (Mountainview, CA), Global Business Analyst, and Software Developer II (Mountainview, CA). Hopefully one of these positions will be a good fit for you.
