Happy Father’s Day! We were originally hoping to feature the Prostate Cancer Foundation, since the ad that they’re running called “We Need Our Dads” is pretty eye catching, but they don’t have any job openings, so we did our best to find another Dad related non-profit. We came up with the National Fatherhood Initiative, which is an organization that aims to “improve the well being of children by increasing the proportion of children growing up with involved, responsible, and committed fathers.”

Bringing New Meaning to “Dads and Grads”

You’ve probably heard the term “Dads and Grads” used to talk about the June gift buying season. Apparently marketers are too lazy to realize that there’s a big difference between what dads want for Father’s Day and what grads what for graduation. Anyway, you can bring new meaning to the saying by being a grad who works for an organization that helps dads with their fathering skills. Although most new grads aren’t parents and clearly haven’t had the opportunity to develop parenting skills, that doesn’t mean that they can’t help. The National Fatherhood Initiative’s Jobs page says that the Initiative is looking for a Website Coordinator. This looks to be an entry-level position for someone who is web savvy and has some web development expertise. The National Fatherhood Initiative is located in Gaithersburg, MD. To apply you should submit a resume, cover letter, and portfolio containing at least three websites that you have designed/maintained to pmcnally@fatherhood.org
