Yesterday we looked at InterAction, a non-profit organization that brings other non-profits together to work towards common goals in international relief and development. Today we’re going to look at another non-profit that helps other non-profits. It’s called FSG, and they’re a “consulting firm specializing in strategy, evaluation, and research” with offices in Boston, MA; Geneva, Switzerland; Mumbai, India; San Francisco, CA; Seattle, WA; and Washington, DC. They were founded in 2000, and they are constantly working “to develop more effective solutions to the world’s most challenging societal issues.” They approach problems with four key ideas: Catalytic Philanthropy, Collective Impact, Shared Value, and Strategic Evaluation.
FSG serves all kinds of clients including Private Foundations, Corporations, Community Foundations, School Systems, Non-profits, and Governmental Organizations. They’ve worked with names like Union of Concerned Scientists, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Nestlé, and United States Agency for International Development. You can see the full list of clients here. They offer these clients a range of services including Strategy, Implementation, Rsearch, Evaluation, Organizational Change, and Coalition Building. I know it can be hard to grasp what consulting firms actually do, but FSG does a nice job of spotlighting successful projects on their clients page. Right now they’re looking for an Accounting Assistant (Boston, MA), an Administrative Assistant (San Francisco, CA), and Consulting Associate (Boston, MA). These look like amazing opportunities to learn a lot and make a serious impact.
