Let’s have a little fun today since it’s Friday! I’ve been waiting on a company to post jobs for well over a year. They still haven’t done it (which probably means that their jobs are awesome and get snatched up before they’re posted), so I’m going to force the issue and post about them anyway. The company is Archie McPhee, and they a novelty dealer based in Seattle that is about as off the wall as a company can get. Their offerings include Bacon Gumballs, Stylish Mustaches for Girls, Chicken Chuckers, and Rubber Chickens. That doesn’t even include their stupid products (like squirrel underpants) and their weirdest products (which also includes squirrel underpants along with a corn dog air freshener).

Enjoy the Novelty of an Entry Level Job

Despite all of the wacky products that Archie McPhee offers online, in their store, and by mail order, my favorite has to be the the Seth Godin, Marketing Guru Action Figure. Who wouldn’t want an action figure of their favorite marketing genius? Maybe they’ll make a job search guru action figure of me one day… yeah right! Anyway, if you haven’t already gotten a feel for what Archie McPhee is all about, then they’re probably not the right place for you. Although they don’t have any jobs posted, they do have a Jobs page that brags about how awesome of a place they are to work. It’s hard to tell what kind of jobs they might offer, but you might as well find out by reaching out to them at unicorn@mcphee.com.

I worked there for 3 years as the photographer, web gal, and toy idea creative. It was crazy. Client services wore beehive wigs daily. Goth was popular attire. If you came up with an idea for a new toy you would receive 7 of them when they were produced– I had a lot of toys. Halloween was insane. All the photos included only employees. What memories.
