2tor was named by Forbes as one of “10 Startups Changing the World.” Why? They’re making some of the world’s best graduate school programs available over the Internet. They’re already working with USC’s Rossier School of Education, USC School of Social Work, UNC’s Kenan-Flagler Business School, UNC’s School of Government, and Washington University in St. Louis’ School of Law, and they’re looking for a Business Development Manager to help make great education even more accessible. 2tor thinks that One Day One Job readers could be a perfect fit, so learn more here.
Yesterday we talked about filling your head with all kinds of useless pop culture. I don’t recommend it, but I guess you can make a career out of it if you really want to. Why not spend your time on more useful trivia like food industry facts and insights? That’s what the people at Technomic do. It’s a Chicago, IL based consulting company that has been serving the food industry since 1966. They offer “proprietary research, trend analysis, forecasts, common-interest studies and state-of-the-industry reports” to clients in every part of the food industry. Their clients range from supermarkets to chain restaurants to financial institutions that serve the industry. If it has anything at all to do with food, there’s a good chance that Technomic is on top of it.
While Technomic’s site is littered with some of the most awful, generic stock photography out there, you need to look past it. Take some time to dig into their site and learn about their Research Programs, Online Services, Reports and Newsletters, and Consulting Services. This is the kind of stuff that you need to know about if you want to work at Technomic. You’ll probably also want to take a look at Technomic’s Client List, just to get an idea of how broadly they serve the food industry. If you’re dying to work in the food industry, then you should definitely take a look at Technomic’s Jobs page. Right now they’re looking for a Data Analyst. It’s a perfect fit for a new or recent grad. All of the other postings are internships, but you can apply for an unlisted position if you want.
