I’m traveling today, so this post is going to be short and sweet. Hopefully my trip will be filled with memories and photo opportunities that will give me the material I need to put together a Mixbook. What’s a Mixbook? It’s a photo book, but it’s not just any photo book. You can collaborate with friends on the photo book over the Internet. You may have made photo books before (I have with iPhoto), but from what it looks like Mixbook puts even Apple’s iPhoto to shame. It’s all about the software, and Mixbook’s web based software appears to be phenomenal, although I haven’t had a chance to try it yet. If it’s as easy to use and powerful as it looks on the site, then Mixbook is going to be a very successful startup.
Mixbook’s CTO and Co-founder Aryk Grosz pitched me directly with 4 reasons that we should feature Mixbook on One Day, One Job. Here they are:
1. The average age of our company is 24; younger professionals will feel more comfortable at work and will feel empowered to make a difference.
2. We’re a small company (4 total) that will give young candidates a chance to prove themselves.
3. We just closed a round of financing with a prominent Silicon Valley angel group.
4. Our revenues have been doubling every month this year (and we’re just getting started).
Those are some stellar reasons to work for a company, so Aryk got his wish. Mixbook’s Jobs Page is really basic, but it gets across all the pertinent information. They actually sell themselves pretty well too. Here’s a quote from the page:
