Looking for an entry level job or internship in telecommunications? This is an overview of how to approach the search and a list of companies that might have relevant entry level and internship opportunities.

The telecommunications industry involves providing people with television, Internet, cable, and telephone access. This industry comes with a wide variety of jobs, including:

Engineering: Research and design new technologies in telecommunications, as well as improve existing ones
Installation and maintenance: Install equipment such as Internet modems and cable lines, then maintain them or repair them
Customer service/Technical Support: Answer queries from customers, troubleshoot issues
Sales: Sell products to customers and companies
Marketing: Market a telecommunications product to customers and companies

While you don’t necessarily need a bachelor’s degree for some of these positions, it can help you advance or start at a higher level. For some positions, such as engineering or marketing, a degree is required.
