Looking for an entry level job or internship in Nevada? This is an overview of how to approach the search and a list of companies that might have relevant entry level and internship opportunities.
If the first things that comes to mind when thinking of Nevada are Las Vegas and a row of casinos, your mental image isn’t too far off; leisure and hospitality (which includes gambling and tourism) employ more people than any other industry in Nevada. As such the largest employers in Nevada include a number of casinos and resorts as well as the Clark and Washoe County School Districts. Two of Nevada’s universities (University of Nevada at Las Vegas and Reno) also rank on the list.
Outside of Las Vegas, tourism is still strong, particularly in Lake Tahoe, Laughlin, and the state’s national parks and wilderness areas. Mining is also one of the major industries outside of Nevada’s major cities.
