I believe the salary data on glassdoor.com is from the Consultant position, which is entry post-MBA level. Analyst salaries are competitive with larger generalist firms. My first year analyst salary including bonus was conservatively within $5,000 of McKinsey's currently highest reported analyst salary + bonus according to glassdoor.

As far as the reviews sounding too good to be true, I can't speak for the reviewers, but am not aware of any deliberate attempt to mislead anyone. From AV&Co.'s perspective, it is in their interest to set accurate expectations with incoming consultants. Since it usually takes around 6 months for them to fully ramp up, AV&Co. would end up losing a significant investment in time and resources if consultants become dissatisfied and quit as a result of false expectations.

Am I the only one who feels like the reviews on vault and glassdoor from AV&CO are all made up (aka fake)? It seems that their salary information is too high, not distributed among different levels, and comments about the company are generically good... I suspect it's too good to be true, but maybe it is that good?
