It’s your biggest fear. You’ll graduate college, get a job, and begin life as Bill Murray in Groundhog Day
. Every day will be the same. Different. But the same. Hell on Earth will begin at 22 years old. We don’t want that to happen to you. That’s why we write about a new and exciting company’s entry-level jobs every day. Today’s “job” isn’t much of a job, but you have to forgive us for celebrating one of our favorite holidays. So, if you’re not interested in becoming part of the inner circle of the Punxsutawney Groundhog Club, take a look at our Past Jobs or our Online Job Search Blog and start formulating a plan so you don’t end up trapped like Bill Murray. On the other hand, if you’re interested in wearing a stove pipe hat and handling rodents on cold February mornings, read on.

Happy New Year’s Eve! We hope you enjoy the night, since you’ve got a lot of resolutions (hopefully some related to your job search) to start tomorrow. For those of you who don’t want to start the New Year hungover, we have an idea for a delicious non-alcoholic beverage and possibly a job too. Martinelli’s is turning 140 this year, and you should celebrate by cracking open a bottle of their famous sparkling cider. Unfortunately, if you want to apply for a job at Martinelli’s, you’re going to have to do it the same way their first employees did in the 19th century. They only accept resumes through snail mail. There are no job listings on their site, but it is reassuring that they actually have an employment page on the site – even if it only lists the address to send your resume too. We apologize for another short post, but we’ve got some sparking cider to drink.

Merry Christmas! And what’s Christmas all about? Toys! Ok, not really (we know, we know – commercialization of Christmas is evil), but there are few things better when you’re a kid than waking up in the morning and finding many of the toys that you’ve longed for all year sitting under a tree.

Merry Christmas Eve from the One Day, One Job Team! We’re taking a little time off to celebrate the holiday, but that doesn’t mean we are going to stop giving you job ideas every day.
Every time this year, the North American Aerospace Defense Command begins tracking Santa Claus on his amazing route across the world bringing presents to good boys and girls. Typically, NORAD is responsible for ensuring that our country remains safe, but Santa’s annual feat is just so incredible that they have to pay it attention. How could you ignore a man who is able to deliver a child’s toys once every two to three-thousandths of a second?

Hopefully you’re not stealing wireless while waiting in line at Best Buy to read this post, when you could be doing all your Black Friday shopping on Amazon.com
in the comfort of your own bed. If you don’t get your Wii
, PS3
, Xbox 360
, Kindle
, or another Black Friday Deal
, maybe you’ll get moving on finding a job and adding to your bank account rather than subtracting from it. Since employers haven’t taken to the Black Friday concept (can you say 20% higher salary if you take a job that you applied for on Black Friday?), we figured we’d write about jobs from the ultimate holiday shopping company.

Happy Thanksgiving! A lot of blogs are taking the day off today, but we thought we’d stay true to our name. Thanksgiving is another day, so we have another job.
Do you wish you could go back to the First Thanksgiving at Plymouth Plantation or The Virginia Colony? Do you long for the days before electricity? When Thanksgiving turkey came from the wild? When your livelihood actually depended on the success of the Fall harvest?
After you graduate, why not go back in time? Both Plimoth Plantation (yes, that’s how they spell it) and Colonial Williamsburg have job opportunities in their living history museums. If you love history, why not recreate it to help others learn? You can live like our forefathers did at the First Thanksgiving and get paid for it. Plimoth Plantation is currently hiring an Apprentice in 17th-Century Carpentry, while Colonial Williamsburg is hiring and auditioning for a number of positions. Both of these living museums have other job options, but why would you want to do anything other than be a colonial?
